What a sunny March day. I couldn’t resist the urge to go hunting for driftwood so took myself off for a treasure hunt on the beach. I now have some fantastic bits to get creating another mirror and lots of potential for other ideas. Found loads of inspiration on my walk too.

From this photo you can see the inspiration I get for my beach hut ceramics. There is something so appealing about a row of them in the sunshine.

The large round tower is one of the Martello towers that are dotted along the east coast, built to resist invasion by Napolean and his army.

They have incredibly thick walls (about 9 feet/3 metres in places) to withstand canon fire. The one at the Ferry is now converted into an amazing house with windowsills 3 metres long!
